If you are flying, the best airport is Heathrow, in London. From here, you will take an Uber/Taxi to the main train station, and then a direct train to Nottinghamshire.
More information....
Both Gatwick and Heathrow airports are not close to central London but there are many ways of easy transportation to get there.
Before Covid, Gatwick airport express ran a good and very regular over ground train service into London Euston station. This has been suspended but may return before your visit so we will keep an eye on the situation.
In the meantime, Southern Railway and Thameslink are operating trains between Gatwick and London.
Heathrow airport has good access via the underground into London Kings Cross station or over ground express train into Paddington. This is the airport and route we recommend.
For ease if you are planning on travelling by train to Retford, we would suggest flying into either Gatwick or Heathrow but taking train or underground to either Euston or Kings Cross.
Trains from London to Retford run from Kings Cross station (Euston is one tube stop or a 10 min walk away from Kings Cross) This is the train company to use LNER.If you are driving please reach out to us if you'd like directions and estimated times.
